Grace Jarvis
Just Because I'm Crying Doesn't Mean I'm Not Having a Nice Time
A new hour of stand-up comedy from the Antipodes’ most verbose and melancholy good time gal. Grace Jarvis is excited to regale audiences with her tales of living overseas, falling in love, working in a sex shop and getting into notable scrapes on public transport, before she inevitably sits still for long enough that a mysterious moss begins to grow and cover her body like a boulder.
Returning to Melbourne from her obligatory move to the UK, Grace remains “a refreshing and unique perspective in amongst an ocean of generic stand-up” (Art Murmurs, NZ).
As seen on Comedy Up Late and Upfront. Tour support for Josh Thomas.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Grace is a stand-up comedian and writer. She has been told her material is too dark for how sweet her face is, she cannot change either. Loaded with the trademark Jarvis social commentary, Grace is continuing to secure her place as one of the rising stars of the Australian comedy scene.
Grace has appeared on Australian stages and TV in Comedy Up Late and Upfront, as well as recently performing as the tour support for Josh Thomas’ UK shows. She has appeared on several podcasts and web shows such as Gamey Gamey Game, Don’t You Know Who I Am with Josh Earl, Wax Quizzical with Kyran Wheatley, What the Flick and bigsofttitty.png with Demi Lardner & Tom Walker. She has been published in Junkee, The Feed SBS and The Age.
Grace’s life experiences as a queer Gen Z woman living with autism and ADHD have undoubtedly shaped her perspective, both as a comedian and as an individual and she is excited to share her unique perspectives with Brisbane audiences.
